Building Communities that Build Community

WHEN: March 21 – 28

  • Deadline to register online is 11:59pm on Friday, February 20th, 2009.
  • Pre-trip Meeting: Saturday, March 14th, 2009.
WHO: Anyone! All are welcome, including those are not involved in our ministry. So, bring your friends for a week that will change lives!
WHAT: There is still much work to be done in New Orleans! Make your Spring Break truly meaningful and memorable!
  • Houses need to be gutted and homes need to be built. Volunteers are continuing to play a vital role in re-building communities in NO, LA. 

  • Come be a part of the volunteer army!

  • Brown University students will join others in serving alongside Building Better Communities (www.bbcneworleans.org). 

  • Each morning we will head out in small teams to gut houses, build homes, or serve the poor and needy. 

  • Our evenings will be spent discussing what it means to be "Building Communities that Build Community," exploring the treasures of Nawlins, and resting up for the next day.

  • We will stay at a modest hotel and cook and eat meals together.

COST: $500 – Includes everything:

  • Airfare, ground transportation, hotel, food, and fun.
  • There is a $75 non-refundable registration fee that is part of the total cost of the trip ($500).

  • Meet in the Blue Room at 8:15pm on Thursday, February 19th, 2009.
  • Learn how to involve your family and friends in your endeavor to build better communities.
SCHOLARSHIP Opportunity: $200!
  • How can you get this? Bring someone not involved with AIA with you. Then, when you both register, together you will receive $200 towards your total cost. This $200 can be distributed between the two of you as you choose.
